Beeswax is one of the most natural wax products available. Beeswax is the wax made by honeybees intended for the protection of their honeycombs. Its color varies from nearly white to brownish, but most often a shade of yellow, depending on purity and the type of flowers gathered by the bees. The Beeswax must then be clarified by a filtration processes and may then be used for candles, encaustic art, cosemetic applications, lubricants & polishes. Beeswax is a tough wax with a high melting point range, of 144 to 147 °F. If beeswax is heated above 185 °F discoloration occurs & can effect burning qualities. The flash point of beeswax is 204.4 °C (399.9 °F) Our White Beeswax is our most reccommended high quality beeswax. Most of our customers use it in Encaustics & cosemetics. It does work great for other applications as well. The White Beeswax comes in a very small "prill" form very much like laundry soap. This makes the wax must easier to use & melt. Our beeswax special is very popluar especially if you are on the east coast, Alaska or Hawaii. We can fit up to 10lbs of beeswax into the USPS Flat Rate Priority boxes that ship for $11.50 with a 2-3 business day transit. |
