Jar
Candles
*Handle
jar with care, as the container is fragile. Avoid glass-to-glass contact
when removing or replacing lid. Do not use if cracked, chipped, or scratched
and DO NOT refill with wax.
*Keep
the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matchsticks or other foreign matter
that might present a fire hazard.
*Never
allow the flame to come in direct contact with the side of the container.
Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" and centered. Reposition as needed by quickly
moving wick back to the center with a pencil. Avoid drafts or excessive
vibrations.
*If
the jar becomes blackened while burning, clean with a dry paper towel.
And remember: blackening may be prevented by keeping the wick trimmed to
1/4" while burning!
*The
container may become hot. Handle carefully.
*Discontinue
use when 1/2" of wax remains. This will prevent possible heat damage to
the counter/surface or container itself.
*Candle
color, fragrance and specific usage will affect consumption of the wax.
It is normal for some wax to be left lining the side the container, and
our estimated burn times take this into account. The length of time the
candle is burned, each time it is used, also contributes to the rate of
consumption. Do not tilt a burning candle in an attempt to melt excess
wax off the sides of the jar as breakage may result.
*Yankee
Jar Candles are fragrant while burning due to their high quality and quantity
of fragrance oil, and the size of the wax pool that forms while they burn.
Fragrance oil affects the burning characteristics of wax. To control burning
quality we carefully blend our waxes and choose just the right wick.
*Water
and wax don't mix! If a candle is exposed to moisture, it might not relight.
If the jar becomes blackened while burning, clean with a dry paper towel.
Don't leave uncovered candles out doors overnight!
Samplers®
(votive)
*Always
burn in an appropriate holder for maximum burn time and best results. If
burned free-standing, samplers will drip.
*Keep
the wick trimmed to 1/4", and centered for even consumption of the wax.
This will also prevent possible heat damage to the holder.
*Keep
the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matchsticks or other foreign matter
that might present a fire hazard.
*It
the flame seems too small and is "drowning" in the wax, use a potholder
to pick up the votive glass and pour the excess liquid into a lined wastebasket.
Ionictm
Pillar Candles
*Always
burn pillars placed on an appropriate holder, on a protected, heat resistant
surface.
*If
the wax pool reaches the candle's edge, dripping may occur. To avoid this,
extinguish the flame and allow the candle to harden before relighting.
*Keep
the wick trimmed to 1/4". A pillar's wick curls when it burns. If the off-center
flame is causing the candle to burn unevenly simply move the wick to the
other side quickly with a pencil.
*A
grouping of burning pillars creates a stunning effect, especially when
displayed in a fireplace or on the mantelpiece.
Wax
Potpourri Tarts®
*No
water, no mildew, no mess! Simply place one or more Tarts in a dry potpourri
pot, and light the unscented tea light candle beneath. The candle's heat
will melt the wax, releasing its wonderful fragrance.
*To
change fragrances, you may pour the liquid wax into a lined wastebasket
using a pot holder OR let the wax harden in the freezer then pop
it out into the palm of your hand.
*Electric
potpourri pots are NOT recommended for wax potpourri. To avoid the
possibility of overheating the wax, we recommend using Wax Potpourri Tarts
in candlelit burners only.
*Use
unscented tea lights. Scented tea lights burn hotter, and require more
ventilation than many burners offer.
*About
16 hours of fragrance per two Tarts may be reasonably expected, perhaps
even more!
*Create
your own scents by combining Tarts of different fragrances. Blend Fresh
Peach and French Vanilla for example, or Cranberry, Cinnamon, and Spiced
Apple.
